Ledyba is a Bug/Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. Known as the Five Star Pokémon, it is characterized by its ladybug-like appearance with a red body and black spots. Ledyba is highly social and communicates with others of its kind using an aromatic fluid secreted from where its legs join its body. This fluid is used to convey feelings by altering its scent. Ledyba is extremely timid when alone, often unable to move unless it's part of a swarm. In cold weather, groups of Ledyba cluster together to keep warm.

Interestingly, the pattern of black spots on Ledyba's back differs slightly from one individual to another. Ledyba is particularly sensitive to cold temperatures, which explains its clustering behavior. In warmer climates like Alola, it appears much more lively. When threatened, groups of Ledyba join together and use the move Reflect to protect their nest. Ledyba's feet secrete a fluid that indicates its location, further highlighting its social nature.
