Sneasel is a Dark/Ice-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. This cunning and vicious creature is known for its sharp claws and sneaky nature. Sneasel is a bipedal Pokémon that resembles both a cat and a weasel, with a bluish-black body, red feathers on its tail and left ear, and yellow oval markings on its forehead and chest. It is perfectly adapted for survival in cold, mountainous regions, using its sharp claws not only for attacking but also for climbing trees and traversing icy terrains.

Sneasel is notorious for its predatory behavior, often working in pairs to steal eggs from bird Pokémon nests. One Sneasel will lure the parents away while the other raids the nest. This Pokémon is also known to attack Alolan Sandshrew, although the Sandshrew's hard skin can sometimes cause Sneasel's claws to snap off. Despite its savage disposition, Sneasel has been observed sleeping peacefully on rare occasions, sometimes with its belly out and languidly washing its face.

Sneasel evolves into Weavile when leveled up holding a Razor Claw during the night. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Hisuian Sneasel evolves into Sneasler when using a Razor Claw during the day.

Sneasel has undergone several changes throughout the Pokémon generations. In Generation II, it was introduced as a Dark/Ice-type Pokémon. Its hidden ability, Pickpocket, was added in later generations, allowing it to steal an opponent's held item when hit by a contact move. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a regional variant called Hisuian Sneasel was introduced, changing its typing to Poison/Fighting and giving it a new evolution. This variant is noted for its venomous claws, which are ideal for traversing cliffs and infiltrating the nerves of its prey.
